Conflict: Person vs. person. In the book ''The Batboy'',Brian gets his dream job with his sports idol. But when it transpires that his idol is a jerk and detests him. Brian has to deal with it and he seems to dig himself into a deeper hole every time he tries to help out and be friendly. Protagonist: Brian Dudley. Brian gets the job of his life, working as a batboy for the Detriot Tigers. He is jovial already, but is in pure bliss when his childhood idol comes to town. Brian seems to always be on his hero's bad side, but he always tries to find a solution. Antagonist: Hank Bishop. The Bishop of Baseball, a former Tiger comes back to Detroit after serving a steriod suspension. He treats Brian coldly, with no respect. He has a bad attitude about everything and takes everything out on Brian, especially after a tough lost. Climax: The climax is when Hank's personality changes. He used to detest Brian, but found out that Brian's dad was in the major leauges. Hank finds out that Brian is in a batting slump with his team back home. Then, Hank gives Brian batting lessons and is starting to like him. Resolution: The problem is that Hank hates Brian, even though Brian wants to be his friend, and tries everything he could to get Hank to like him. After allot of suprises, they become close friends. SWBS Summary: Brian wants to be friend with his idol, Hank. But Hank dislikes him, so Brian tries to become his friend, and eventually succeeds.
